Safety Recall Notice
In voluntary cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Maytag Water Heaters is conducting a product safety retrofit program. The following product is involved:
Product: 75-Gallon Propane Gas Water Heaters (model and serial numbers listed below).
Units: About 5,000 that were manufactured in the U.S. between the period of January 2004 and July 2005.
Hazard: The water heaters can accumulate soot on the burners, posing a fire hazard.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description: The recall involved 75-gallon propane gas water heaters with the brand name "Maytag" on the side of the unit. The serial number and model are located on the rating plate. Only units with the model’s listed below that were manufactured between January 2004 and July 2005 are included in this recall.
If your unit has one of the model numbers listed above, locate the serial number on the rating plate to determine if it was manufactured between January 2004 and July 2005. The manufacturer’s serial numbers for this period are listed below:
